Woman Arrested After Pulling Out A Knife In Fight At Jericho Hotel, Police Say

A 24-year-old woman was arrested for an alleged assault after stabbing another woman in the head and chest during a fight with two children in the room.

The incident took place around 1:50 a.m., Sunday, July 7, when Nassau County Police responded to the Meadowbrook Motor Lodge, at 440 Jericho Turnpike, in Jericho, for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers found two women fighting in the hallway of the motel. An investigation found that Crystal Poole, of Hempstead, allegedly attacked the victim, 26, with a knife before locking herself in the victim’s room with her two children, said the Nassau County Police.

Officers were able to gain entry into the room and arrest Poole. The victim’s children were not harmed. 

The victim sustained knife wounds to her head and chest area, as well as bite wounds to her leg. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries and is in stable condition. The knife was recovered at the scene, police said.

Poole was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a weapon. She is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, July 8.
